We are very excited about some new things happening within the Crisp County School System (CCSS)! It’s hard to believe this school year is almost over. We are grateful for every opportunity we have to serve this community, and we believe if we continue to work together, we can create a better Crisp County through education.
Our community has experienced a high number of shootings and assaults over the past couple of years and it is out of necessity that we encourage safer schools and buses to reduce the opportunities for incidents while on our buses or school grounds. Studies show students who are consumed with outside fears are not able to perform academically to the best of their potential. We are committed to providing the best and safest public education as possible. We were awarded a safety grant that have allowed us to purchase new technology and provide some safety prevention trainings to assist us in our safety measures. The community will be invited to these upcoming trainings!
The “Metrasens Ultra” entry control units (also known as metal detectors) are the most advanced, efficient, and flexible threat detection system designed to get smarter over time. These units do not require any calibration and can be easily moved throughout the school/campus to promote safety. This product is recognized for having uniform detection, environmental noise filtering, simple rugged interface, long battery life, 5-zone LED lighted precision, actionable data, secure connectivity, and enhanced lower-body detection. We will also continue to use the other walk-through units as well as handheld units.
Please know that safety will always be a top priority for CCSS. This is one measure we are taking to be proactive and encourage safer schools and buses for our students, staff, guests, and community.
